Alkaline + Chrome is a fashion and lifestyle blog that was launched on November 1st, 2014. The name Alkaline + Chrome, while slightly geeky, is a name that really resonates with my style and my aesthetics. Alkaline is used to describe certain elements, which are the most basic and simple of the elements. Chrome is a metal which is gray, extremely hard, and extremely metallic. While these two words may seem irrelevant to fashion, my style is simple and minimalistic, while still containing sharp, surprising and sometimes shiny elements. In otherwords, Alkaline + Chrome.
As for me personally, I am a young blogger (obviously) with dreams of working on the business side of the fashion industry in marketing or public relations. For as long as I have loved fashion, I have aspired to be Kelly Cutrone, I have been inspired by Anna Wintour, I have (semi-obsessively) read Fashiontoast, and I have stared at the creations of Proenza Schouler, Cushnie et Ochs, and Alexander Wang for hours on end. I frequent Instagrammable cafes and restaurants in New York City, I attempt to keep my shopping addiction in control, and I avoid crocs like the plague. I mix H&M with Elie Tahari and Converse, I have no shame in dressing for comfort instead of style, and I acknowledge that my own sense of style is always evolving.
